In our London studio, our team reimagines discarded materials into beautiful functional designs. These ideas then travel to our production partners in India, where they’re carefully brought to life with as little impact on the planet as possible. At every step, the people behind our pieces work with intention, not just for the product, but for the world we’re all a part of.
Our Partner Factories
At écotorie, we believe that responsibility begins with closely knowing the people we collaborate with at every step of our journey. That’s why we trace every material used in our products, all processes behind them, and partner only with factories that reflect our values.
Our manufacturing partners in India are more than just factories. They are collaborators in our shared commitment to fairness, transparency, and care for people and the planet. All our partner facilities undergo regular third-party audits through global platforms like SMETA and SEDEX. But we don’t stop there. Our founders stay closely involved, carrying out internal checks and staying in ongoing conversation with our teams on the ground to keep improving together.
After a long process of careful selection, we are now proud to say that our organic leather is sourced from LWG-certified tanneries , which consume 35% less water, 48% less energy, and 95% fewer hazardous chemicals.
Our Materials
écotorie intentionally designs products to minimise the need for new material production. By repurposing off-cuts from existing manufacturing, every material is chosen with care. Our R&D team works tirelessly to ensure that over 80% of our collection is crafted from organic upcycled materials and surplus leather so that every piece has a story to tell. With their help, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint to up to 97% when compared to accessories made from newly produced materials. Our hardware is free from harmful metals such as lead, cadmium and nickel and our packaging materials are made of 100% recycled card and organic cotton dust bags. Our approach not only reduces waste but also ensures that our designs remain exclusive and stand out.
Our Designs
At écotorie, every piece we create has a story and a purpose. We embrace the principles of a circular economy, choosing organic leathers and upcycled trims that honour what already exists. Our designs are timeless and are made to be worn, loved, and kept for years to come. By repurposing byproducts from other industries, we’re able to reduce waste and craft something beautiful from what might have otherwise been discarded in landfills. To us, nothing good should ever go to waste.
